The Alliance Incubator is a programme designed to accelerate the growth and role of road safety NGOs to advocate for policies including 30 km/h in urban areas, run by the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety and supported by the FIA Foundation’s Child Health Initiative Advocacy Hub.

The Second Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030, sets a mandate for the United Nations, governments, academia and civil society to halve the number of road deaths and serious injuries by 2030. Reaching this ambitious goal requires accelerated action to roll out the infrastructure and legislative changes which prioritise pedestrians, cyclists and active mobility over motorised transport, to deliver safe, low-speed #streetsforlife, as set out in the Child Health Initiative’s Manifesto 2030: Safe & Healthy Streets for Children, Youth & Climate.

The 15 NGOs participating in the Incubator with the support of the FIA Foundation are strengthening their advocacy for 30 km/h in urban areas, building wider stakeholder support and collaboration, and working towards securing commitment to lower speed limits to 30 km/h in urban areas. This activity may be at a local, regional, or national level, dependent on each country’s jurisdiction. The NGOs also run and engage in a range of campaigns with the NGO Alliance at both a community and wider advocacy level, for example, focusing on specific calls to action for global road safety moments.

The first cohort of the Incubator NGOs operates across Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Latin America, South Asia and Africa and has engaged in local, regional and global road safety calls to action.
