Protected bike lane networks save money and protect planet, new study shows

Investment in urban protected bicycle lanes can significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, lower transport costs, and prevent road fatalities compared to investment in other infrastructure, says a new report developed by the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy’s (ITDP) global Cycling Cities campaign, supported by the FIA Foundation.

Fiat and Ram fail to deliver in latest Latin NCAP testing

One of the most popular Latin American car models by carmaker Stellantis, alternately branded as the Fiat Strada and the Ram 700, received a disappointing one star rating in the latest testing of the New Car Assessment Programme for Latin America and the Caribbean (Latin NCAP). The independent consumer crash test initiative is supported by the FIA Foundation.

Cars for Indian market are first to achieve 5 stars in updated Global NCAP testing

Two cars built for the Indian market, the Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq, have been awarded top ratings for adult and child occupant safety in the first round of demanding new Global New Car Assessment Programme (Global NCAP) crash test requirements. The independent consumer crash test initiative is supported by the FIA Foundation.

A road safety campaign created by a University of the Arts London (UAL) student is featuring on prominent London billboards seen by more than 5 million road users in an initiative supported by FIA Foundation, alongside Transport for London, Zurich Insurance and Ocean Outdoors.

The Child Health Initiative Manifesto 2030 calls for a transformation of urban streets by 2030 into safe, low speed and accessible space that puts people first, encouraging zero carbon walking and cycling, by deploying the ‘Speed Vaccine’: safe footpaths and crossings; protected cycleways; and maximum 30 km/h speed limits anywhere children and traffic mix. The Manifesto also calls for a first ever Global Summit for Adolescents to galvanise political action and funding for a range of issues affecting Generation Z, including the leading killer of young people: road traffic. To deliver this agenda an €15m Advocacy Hub is being funded by the FIA Foundation.
